Grip-on Tools has reached a Sponsorship and Tool supply agreement with the Prado Moya Racing team, a young and ambitious team that is aiming for the 2021 Dakar, to be held in Saudi Arabia from January 5 to 17.
The team has Yago de Prado (1973) as pilot and Álvaro Moya (1994) as co-pilot and navigator; Also note the advice of Luis Moya, ex-co-driver of Carlos Sainz with whom he won the WRC world championships in 1990 and 1992.
Yago has extensive experience in different competitions, from karting in its beginnings, to sailing, achieving numerous positions of honor in prestigious events on the calendar and now in the Rally Raid, a competition in which he began his career together with Álvaro in 2019.
The year of their debut in the raids, they competed on the CERTT calendar, in which they managed to finish second in their category in Mar de Olivos, Aragón and Guadalajara, as well as finishing in the same position in the general of the Yamaha Open Cup.
For this 2020, they had planned an ambitious route plan with which to gain experience facing one of the toughest raids, if not the most, in the world: the Dakar 2021. For this, they had planned to run the prestigious Merzouga rallies, Baja Aragón and the Rally of Morocco, but the global situation caused by Covid-19 has canceled these tests, leaving the Rally of Andalusia as one of the few occasions to test the SSV in competition prior to the big event in January.
